THE NUTRI-SPEC LETTER

Volume 11 Number 6

From:
Guy R. Schenker, D.C.
June, 2000

Dear Doctor,

One day my wife walked into my home office with a big smile on her
face (-- so unusual, I knew something was up).

"You passed the test!" She announced.

"What test was that?"

She proceeded to tell me that she likes to listen to the radio talk show of
Dean Edell M.D. on her car radio. And he said (I'm thinking I should
perhaps capitalize the word "He" since most people rank media
personalities right up there with God as omniscient beings) -- anyway --
he said that most nutrition supplements are a total waste of money
because they aren't even absorbed. He said that the typical supplement
has such a thick coating put on it (to increase its shelf life) that the tablet
doesn't even break down in your intestinal tract -- going directly through
you and into the toilet. He said that if a nutrition supplement is any good
you can just drop it in a glass of water and it will begin to dissolve within
15 minutes.

(Did you ever notice how your spouse is just like your worst patient. You
can say something a thousand times and you won't even be heard, let
alone recognized -- but let the same statement be made my a media guru
and it is accepted as gospel.)

After hearing what he said, she rushed home to test Oxy B. She plopped
one a glass of water and (much to her dismay?) she saw it begin to turn
fuzzy within a minute or two and within a few more minutes begin to
disintegrate.

Dr. Dean Edell had it right on two counts. First of all, most nutrition
supplements are garbage. Second, perhaps the absolute most important
qualitative consideration as regards a nutrition product is what is called
its disintegration characteristics. Obviously, it doesn't matter what
ingredients a supplement contains if the crummy pill is going to go right
through you unabsorbed.

There are very specific US Pharmacopoeia protocols for testing the
dissolution and disintegration qualities of a tablet. Believe me, very few
of the health food store quality supplements or even many of the so-
called professional quality supplements have an acceptable disintegration
curve.

TAKING THE TYPICAL TABLET IS LIKE SWALLOWING A
ROCK.

(If you are a chiropractor you have undoubtedly had the experience of
taking a spinal X-ray on a patient and seeing their vitamin pill sitting
comfortably in their gut laughing at you.) The people who take these
pills have been completely snookered by an unscrupulous industry to
throw their money away, and to throw their hopes away, on a totally
useless product.

In the past few issues of this Letter you have seen highlighted the
Oxygenic B brochure which sells your patient convincingly on the unique
and wonderful qualities of Oxygenic B. This Oxy B story would not be
complete without featuring its outstanding disintegration characteristics.
What you and your patients must understand is that most vitamins and
minerals are absorbed through a very short span of the intestinal tract.
Along an intestinal system that is well over 20 feet long there are only a
few feet of that length over which absorption of most nutrients occurs.
Furthermore, that active area of absorption for most vitamins and
minerals is very high in the GI tract -- right near the beginning of the
jejunum, right after the duodenum.

So -- obviously, if a pill hasn't totally dissolved by the time it gets
through the duodenum, none of the nutrients it contains will be absorbed.
It is almost comical to think of it this way, but

THE FACT THAT VIRTUALLY NONE

OF MOST NUTRITION SUPPLEMENTS IS ABSORBED

IS ACTUALLY GOOD NEWS FOR THE HEALTH
 CONSCIOUS PERSON.

We have highlighted many times (and it is explained quite clearly in the
Oxy B brochure) the potential damage that can be done by unbalanced
nutrition supplementation. You can see that the only reason the garbage
sold by the health food industry and by most "professional" nutritionists
doesn't do more harm is because few of the damaging nutrients are
absorbed anyway.

Oxygenic B (and every other NUTRI-SPEC tableted product) has only a
very thin vegetable protein coating. This coating breaks down very easily
in the digestive tract. When your tablets are taken during or after a meal
they are completely dissolved before they even leave the stomach let
alone by the time they reach the jejunum. Combine that fantastic
disintegration feature with the fact that the individual nutrients in the
tablet are in their most easily absorbed form -- and you see that

THE NUTRIENT DELIVERY FROM NUTRI-SPEC PRODUCTS

IS AS CLOSE TO PERFECT AS YOU WILL FIND.

Consider again the title of your Oxygenic B brochure: "If You're Wise
Enough To Take Care of Your Health You're Smart Enough to Learn
the Honest Truth." That brochure opens your patients' eyes to the fact
that the health food industry is a dirty business -- a devious industry that
has not hesitated to win them over by quoting the scientific literature
selectively and out of context -- then taking their money for products that
are at best worthless and often damaging. Happily, the brochure goes on
to point out that science does show there is a way to enrich their lives
beyond their wildest expectations, if they supplement responsibly, and if
they supplement with nutrients of the highest biological activity, and if
they supplement with nutrients in proper balance.

Thanks to your Oxy B brochure your patients now know that there is one
and only one multiple supplement which will give them everything that
may be missing from their diet, as well as the high-powered nutrients to
help keep them looking and feeling their best, all the while preventing
the development of degenerative diseases. That supplement, Oxygenic
B, can only be obtained from you. The brochure then goes on to answer
the question that you and all your patients have

"WHAT SPECIAL ADVANTAGES WILL OXYGENIC B GIVE
ME?"

How is it different from the typical multiple supplement you get from the
health food store? You get two unique benefits from Oxygenic B. The
first benefit is the broad diversity of nutrients. No less than 37
nutritional factors are found in Oxygenic B. None of these nutrients are
in the forms, or in the excess quantities, that have been shown to cause
the damage (as described in the last issue of this letter) of typical
supplements.

The second special benefit you get from Oxygenic B relates to the high
biological activity of the nutrients. This means that the nutrients are
provided in forms that are easily absorbed and participate most
efficiently in your body's metabolic processes. This quality distinction
between Oxygenic B and ordinary supplements is so important that we
have to give you some specific examples so you understand that

OXYGENIC B IS AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT APPROACH
           TO SUPPLYING YOUR NUTRIENT NEEDS.

Go to the kitchen and get out a loaf of bread and a box of cereal. Now
read on the labels until you come to the B vitamins used to "enrich" these
products. You will likely find Vitamin B1 listed there as thiamine
hydrochloride or mononitrate; you will also find Vitamin B6 listed as
pyridoxine hydrochloride. These are the forms of Vitamin B1 and B6
universally used in nutrition supplements and in the "enrichment" of
foods. But here is something that no one ever told you: These are not
the forms of these vitamins that are used naturally by your body.

Oxygenic B contains B vitamins in their biologically active enzyme co-
factor form. Vitamin B2 exists in the form of riboflavine-5-phosphate,
the form of the vitamin occurring naturally in tissues and cells. And the
Vitamin B1 and B6? In Oxygenic B you will find them as thiamine
pyrosphosphate and as pyridoxal-5-phosphate instead of the cheap stuff
used in the food industry and in the supplement industry. Oxygenic B's
enzyme co-factor forms of B vitamins, unlike common supplemental B
vitamins, require no conversion in order to be efficiently utilized by your
body.

One other important consideration concerning B vitamins is your body's
ability to absorb them. The health food industry is happy to dress up
their label with mega doses of B vitamins making you think you are
getting more for your money. Using Vitamin B1 as an example, did you
know that the maximum dose your body can absorb is less than 4
milligrams? What does that say about a supplement that contains 10, 20,
or even 50 milligrams of Vitamin B1?

WHO EVER MADE THAT PRODUCT

IS EITHER IGNORANT OR DISHONEST -- EITHER WAY,

YOU DON'T WANT THE GARBAGE THEY'RE SELLING.

Oxygenic B gives you the highest biological activity nutrients, in
quantities for maximum absorption and utilization.

Another noteworthy component of Oxygenic B is Vitamin C in fat-
soluble form. This form of Vitamin C is retained and utilized far more
effectively than the ordinary water-soluble Vitamin C.

An even more important benefit you get from Oxygenic B is its mineral
and trace mineral content. Again, efficiency of absorption and utilization
is the key. One example to illustrate is the trace mineral chromium. In
Oxygenic B you find chromium polynicotinate, which has been shown to
be 18 times more bio-active than other forms of chromium, and, which
is also the form of chromium that relates specifically to preventing blood
sugar (and brain sugar) problems.

Another benefit from Oxygenic B compared to other supplements is its
high proportion of trace minerals to vitamins. Oxygenic B is formulated
with careful consideration given to the typical diet. Bread, cereal, and
beverages are (as you know) commonly fortified with B and C vitamins,
yet contain little, if any, trace minerals. You already learned last issue
that trace mineral status is further jeopardized by the largely
unrecognized fact that supplementation with vitamins can actually
further deplete trace mineral levels.

One other benefit from Oxygenic B (and one reason why it costs just a
little more than the garbage put out by the health food industry) is that it
contains physiologically significant quantities of all its nutrients. A
common trick employed by health food companies is

TO DRESS UP PRODUCT LABELS WITH

THE NAMES OF ALL KINDS OF FANCY NUTRIENTS --

but they put them in there in insignificant quantities. Consider, for
instance, the powerful anti-oxidant glutathione. You may find
glutathione listed on the label of a popular supplement in a quantity such
as 1600 micrograms. 1600 might look like an impressive number, but
1600 micrograms is so small as to be totally insignificant -- another
attempt to trick you into thinking you are getting more than you are.
Oxygenic B contains 40 milligrams of glutathione -- 25 times the
quantity of this nutrient that you will ever find in an ordinary supplement
(if you find any at all).

You (and your patients thanks to the Oxy B brochure) can easily see
that the scientific evidence supports Oxygenic B as being the perfect
foundation of everyone's nutrition plan. Beginning today -- start using
the Oxy B brochure to reach all your dozens, if not hundreds of patients
on whom you do not do NUTRI-SPEC testing, but for whom nutrition is
important enough that they are throwing money away on healthfood store
garbage.

Here is how to immediately reach a big bunch of people with the Oxy B
message. Just do this -- you or your staff simply ask each and every
patient, "Mrs. Smith, do you take a vitamin supplement?"
Regardless of what Mrs. Smith replies, hand her the Oxy B brochure and
say, "Here is something you will really want to read."

If you are one of the hundreds of doctors reading this letter who
doesn't do much NUTRI-SPEC testing --

THIS IS THE PERFECT CHANCE FOR YOU

TO DO SOME SERIOUS GOOD WITH NUTRITION

WITH LITERALLY NO TIME AND ENERGY INVESTED.

Sincerely,

Guy Schenker, D.C.
